Emeritus Prof Christopher May<p>Arguing that <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/OfGem" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>OfGem</span></a> has been captured by the <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/energy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>energy</span></a> industry & merely parrots their arguments for an increase in allowable profits, Citizens Advice assets that: 'We do not believe these proposals are in the interest of consumers'!</p><p>Like <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/OfWat" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>OfWat</span></a> it is becoming obvious that OfGem has become the creature of the firms it 'regulates'!</p><p>For regulatory <a href="https://zirk.us/tags/capitalism" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>capitalism</span></a> to work (especially as regarded oligopolistic sectors) the regulator has to be independent of the industry & trusted by consumers...</p>
